It was the perfect end to their first wedding anniversary.
Charles and Linda Everson were driving back to their hotel Lake Chelan, in the northwest of the USA. Around them was a rocky beautiful landscape. The road ahead was clear.
Suddenly a huge object dropped from the sky. It crashed onto the bonnet of the Everson’s car.
Dreaming
‘What was
that?’’ cried Mr. Everson. For a moment he
thought he was dreaming. But no, he was still driving down
the empty road with a smashed bonnet.
‘It came from above us!’ said his wife.
‘It looks like a cow!’
‘That’s what I thought!’ said Mr.
Everson. ‘But where did it come from?
Escaped
His wife looked out through
the passenger window. She saw the animal
lying on the road behind them. Then she looked up
‘I think it fell from there!’ she said,
pointing to a cliff. It was at least 50 metres
above the road.
Somehow Mr. Everson
managed to drive the car for another two kilometres until
they came to a shop. Outside there was a newspaper board.
The headline said: ‘300 KILO RODEO COW ESCAPES
RANCH’.
Lucky
Locals took the Eversons to
hospital. Amazingly neither was injured. The cow was not so
lucky
'This
cow was bred for rodeo," a police spokesman later
explained. "It was not a normal cow in a field.'
Mr.
Everson, 49, said: 'I'm just glad to be alive. It's raining
cows out here!'
