The Listeners is a poem by Walter de la Mare about a mysterious traveller who calls at a very strange house. This version is adapted for audio.

"Is there anybody there?" said the Traveller,
Knocking on the moonlit door;
And his horse in the silence ate the grass
Of the forest's floor;
And a bird flew up out of the turret,
Above the Traveller's head
And he knocked upon the door again
