Bird Trouble
Beaky is cockatiel
that lives in a house in Locking, England. Helen,
his owner, often allows her bird to fly around the
house.
Now cockatiels are curious birds and Beaky likes to explore. One day he was investigating Helen’s computer. Curious about the CD-Rom button, he gave it a peck. The drawer shot out, knocking Beaky to the floor.
Sucked Up
Another time Helen was
cleaning the house. Finding some dust that was
difficult to reach, she took the brush off the vacuum
cleaner hose. Beaky flew down to have a peck –
and was sucked into the pipe.
Helen turned off the machine and called the fire
brigade. The cockatiel was stuck half way down the
pipe. How would they get him out?
‘We came up with a good rescue,’ a fire
spokesman said. A firefighter ‘blew down the
other end of the pipe.’
Beaky popped out of the pipe.
