Before you watch/listen:

The following listening will be about lightning. Remember that lightning strikes and that 'strike' is an irregular verb (strike/struck/struck).

There are two main types of lightning: fork lightning and sheet lightning.

Fork lightning is more dangerous and a single bolt of lightning can kill. But the chances or odds of being struck by a lightning bolt are small.

Now watch this short presentation and think about these questions

1. Are many people struck by lightning?
2. Do lightning strikes produce a lot of electricity?
3. Are lightning bolts very long?
